The Team
Carol Rothwell
Managing Director
Carol has over 20 years experience as an Organisational Development consultant, and is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist. She has worked extensively in both the private and public sector over a 20-year period building up long-standing relationships with many senior managers and professional leaders working across all areas of the Health system. She is an experienced project manager who works in partnership with her clients to facilitate skill transference. She specialise in the performance and people arena working at an individual, team and organisational level to bring about performance enhancing change. Carol is a passionate innovator in change management and has authored a number of significant methodological innovations in the field of occupational psychology.
Carol was senior psychologist at the Independent Assessment and Research Centre based in London from 1982 - 1984. She joined PA International Consultants in the mid 80’s as a key member of PA’s Psychometric Unit. Prior to working as a change consultant she was a research officer at The City University and Birkbeck College, London University carrying out applied academic research using Decision Theory in recruitment applications. She lives in London and has three young children who keep her constantly challenged.
Kristin Davies
Business Manager
Kristin joined Rothwell Douglas Ltd in 2002 and has since worked extensively at developing segments of the business including the 360 feedback tool. After graduating with the NZIM Diploma in Business she gained experience working in Hospitality Management in New Zealand and Management Consultancy in London - including contracts with PWC’s Recruitment and Resourcing divisions. Kristin is highly motivated and has excellent planning and organisational skills, she is both proactive and effective in managing internal and external relationships. Kristin is currently on maternity leave in New Zealand but hopes to rejoin the Rothwell Douglas team in the near future.
Dee Lukha
PA & Project Assistant
Dee has joined Rothwell Douglas Ltd in June 2005 since her return from her year of traveling in Australia. She has taken on the role of Project Assistant and PA to the Managing Director Carol Rothwell.Dee has a confident,pro-active attitude, with great organisational,interpersonal and fantastic customer service skills.Dee is involved with the day to day running of the Chiswick office, managing and coordinating projects with our consultants. Dee also has of role of PA to Carol Rothwell.
Peter Matthews
Assistant Psychologist
Peter joined the team in the summer of 2006. With a background in HR Peter is now looking to gain more specialist experience in the field of change management. Primarily, Peter is involved in helping plan and set up assessment projects and workshops, and over the last few months he has begun to take a more active role in these processes.
Christopher Dean
Associate Director
Chris Dean is an Occupational Psychologist who specialises in designing and running tailor-made selection and development processes to support organisational change, both in the Public and Private Sectors.
After graduating Chris worked for 10 years in the Civil Service in a variety of managerial, strategic and change management roles. He set up and managed a number of teams, which involved particular responsibility for the development of new staff.
Since leaving 10 years ago to develop his career in occupational psychology, Chris has worked with a wide range of clients from both Public and Private Sectors. In addition he has completed an MSc at London University, carrying out research on development programmes for senior managers in Local Government.
Conall Platts
Associate Director
Conall has worked as an Occupational Psychologist with 10 years experience delivering organisational development solutions across a wide range of settings, nationally and internationally. His focus is on delivering team and individual developmental support to facilitate broader organisational change. Over the last few years Conall has principally been involved in helping organisations get the best out of their managers and leaders. In this time he has designed and implemented a wide range of competency-based assessment and development programmes, facilitated across many skills areas and contributed widely to organisational succession planning and change management. He describes himself as someone who works in an empathic, yet challenging way with his clients, enabling this by developing an open and supportive relationship. Helping individuals and organisations develop trust quickly and effectively is an area of particular interest to Conall.
Conall joined Oxford Psychologists Press in the mid-90’s, where he was a key member of the Psychometric & Management Development Consultancy units. Prior to working with Rothwell Douglas as an Associate Partner, Conall has worked with several leading UK-based consultancies, primarily focussing on managing change through tailored people develop programmes. He is an active member of the BPS’ Division of Occupational Psychology Professional Affairs Committee, where he is involved in contributing to the definition and promotion of professional standards of practice. As a squash coach he also takes his passion for skills and confidence development into the sporting arena.
Sue Howells
Associate Director
Sue is a highly motivated Management Development specialist with excellent presentation and interpersonal skills and extensive experience both as a consultant and manager. Sue is confident, clear and a concise communicator at all levels, she enjoys developing individuals to enable them to achieve their full potential and deliver high performance. Sue is reliable, adaptable and conscientious in meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards. Sue combines an empathetic manner with a positive attitude and enthusiastic approach. She is married and has two young children who keep her constantly motivated.
Christopher Martin
Principal Consultant
Chris has significant experience of the assessment and development of both groups and individuals. He operates in a broad range of activities ranging from facilitating visioning workshops with top teams to the design and implementation of procedures to reduce staff turnover amongst shop floor staff. He is also used to working with a highly varied client base many of who require assistance outside the UK.
A particular area of specialism for Chris is the in depth assessment of senior executives both for recruitment and development purposes. This gives him further insight into some of the key issues facing senior managers in many of the Europe’s leading organisations.
Mitch McCrimmon
Principal Consultant
Mitch has over 30 years of experience as an organisational psychologist, specialising in management assessment, development and executive coaching. He has worked as an independent consultant since 1994 having been with PA Consulting Group for the previous 6 years. Mitch’s earlier career included HR practitioner positions with 3 industries: copper mining, telecommunications and packaging followed by consultancy roles with KPMG. In recent years he has been involved in assessment projects for the Royal Bank of Scotland, BOC, Magnox, Nortel Networks, Alstom, CGNU, Nacco (Hyster & Yale forklift trucks), AGIP Oil in Nigeria and the NHS. In addition to assessment work, Mitch is currently an associate coach with Ashridge Management College for their Leadership Programme. For 3 years, he wrote a regular one page article for Human Resource Management Magazine and he has written 2 books on entrepreneurship in large organisations, managing personal transitions and currently working on one on leadership. Mitch and his wife are from Canada originally but have lived in the UK for nearly 20 years.
Rosemary Wallwin
Principal Consultant
Rosemary has over 15 years experience as an Organisational Development consultant, with substantial expertise in the areas of assessment, selection and development. Qualified and experienced in the use and application of a wide range of psychometric tools and providing constructive assessment and developmental feedback. She is a development and assessment specialist experienced in using, designing and delivering competency based assessment and development processes. She undertakes assessment and developmental assignments across a wide range of occupational sectors.
Previously Rosemary was a Senior Strategy Development Advisor with the Sun Alliance Insurance Group. She was responsible for providing internal consultancy for major business projects, devising and implementing people solutions to support strategic organisational change. She headed a wide range of projects and managed a variety of teams developing, designing, implementing and delivering competency based frameworks, assessment, development and performance management processes.
Raminder Braich
Associate Consultant
Raminder has over 15 years organisational experience; during this period she has facilitated organisational, human resources and general management consultancy assignments. Raminder’s experience is both at project director/project management and at an operational level. Consultancy assignments have been at a local, national and international level, spanning a wider range of industries and sectors. She has considerable experience of both public and private sectors and her key areas of expertise are development and performance management.
Gi Cheesman
Associate Consultant
Following a teaching and local government career, Gi enjoyed over 16 years management experience in the NHS, initially running a large District HA training and development department, followed by promotion to a Regional Management Development role (Mersey RHA), and then as Regional Head of Workforce at the Trent RHA.
From 1992-1993,Gi ran the Regional workforce planning, education & organisation development functions as an Assistant Director. From 1995-96, this became an arm of the NHS Executive, and the role continued, focussing on national policy development, strategic planning and the management of a huge education, continuing professional development & contracting agenda with an annual budget of £70 million+.
Following the 5 years as a senior civil servant at the NHSE, Gi was appointed as Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, Sheffield HA (1999) managing HR, OD, modernisation, legal and governance issues. Major developments included the establishment of 4 Primary Care Trusts with a wide range of local people appointed to the non-executive director posts. After transferring to the SCS in the Department of Health, where she lead on QA & education policy, Gi established herself as an independent consultant (2001-2002).
Linda Ratcliffe
Associate Consultant
Linda is a Management Development specialist who has 15 years background within the Human Resource arena at DHL International. Her career has progressed from the generalist field of management training to spending the last 8 years specialising in leadership and talent management through times of significant change and turbulence. She designs and implements people solutions to support strategic organisational change. She works closely with her client to ensure the correct balance is achieved between organisational and individual needs. Her underlying goal is to bring about organisational change through people to achieve success. Linda has an enthusiastic and innovative style and is driven to achieving the highest quality service to her clients.
Linda is qualified and experienced in the use of a range of psychometric tests.
Julie O'Mahoney
Associate Consultant
Julie has worked in Human Resources for over 20 years delivering individual personal development and business solutions. She has worked both nationally and internationally and in the public and private sector. Her experience is wide ranging and includes design and delivery of assessment/development centres, recruitment, managing teams to facilitate organisational change, individual coaching, management skills training, team development, succession planning. Julie’s focus over the last 7 years has been in Management and Executive development, supporting individual development and organisational change at senior levels in organisations. Julie likes to provide practical support to her clients and she describes her approach as warm, supportive and humorous but very energetic and focused.
Prior to becoming an independent consultant, Julie worked as a Human Resources consultant for a large multinational organisation.
She focused initially on managing her own team to provide solutions to challenging people management issues. She then specialised in Management and Executive development designing strategy and working with the leadership team on their own and their team’s executive development. She also spent some time working internationally in Management Development.
During the first 10 years of her career she worked for a large retailer where she covered the full remit of Human Resources including recruitment, both senior and large scale, employee relations, training and development and gained expertise in graduate recruitment and training.
Julie enjoys variety in her assignments but has a particular interest in Team Development, Career Management and Counselling, 360degree feedback and primarily in enabling individuals to develop. Julie lives in Cheshire and has one teenage son, which provides her with plenty of opportunity to utilise her coaching skills!
Nick Clark
Associate Consultant
Nick is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist with 10 years experience in helping organisations improve their business performance by identifying the potential and developing the abilities of individuals and teams. Prior to this, he worked as a freelance Business Writer; researching and writing over 150 training and internal communications programmes for a range of clients including BT, The Post Office, BMW, Employment Service, KPMG, and Lloyds TSB. Flexible, quick thinking, and highly creative, Nick is a resourceful, effective problem solver who is comfortable working with difficult or complex issues , enjoys new challenges, and focuses on delivering practical and effective business solutions. He holds BPS Level A and Level B (Intermediate) qualifications in the use of psychometric instruments, and is an accredited user of a wide range of tests including 16PF5, OPQ32, and Firo Element B. He has extensive experience in the following areas: Facilitation of organisational change programmes and initiatives. Facilitation of team development workshops - focusing on business issues such as clarifying vision, enhancing communication, and improving teamwork/decision making. Design and delivery of customised management/ leadership development interventions. Competency profiling and development. Design of customised exercises for assessment/development purposes. Assessing performance at assessment/development centres. Executive coaching of managers/senior executives for a range of blue chip clients.
David Cook
Associate Consultant
David has over fifteen years experience working as a consultant to businesses in the UK, and is an Occupational Psychologist who specialises in the provision of organisational development and career management services to both public and private sector organisations.
David spent the first part of his career in management & leadership positions at organisations including Nokia, Gridcom, and WS Atkins. During this time he developed a coaching and facilitative style of personnel management which yielded enhanced individual and team performance. To develop his skills in this area further, David undertook training in occupational psychology and now provides services which improve individual and team effectiveness within the context of key businesses objectives, and which encourages individuals to take a more proactive approach to career management.
He brings drive, passion and 100% commitment to each client, adopting an open and informal style. These combine to enable David to engage quickly with clients, creating a compelling environment to facilitate change. He lives in Cambridge and is married with two young children.
